2 of my highland Nepenthes in fridge - robcantleyi and veitchii x burbidgeae

The first one is a species Nepenthes called Nepenthes robcantleyi.

Its identity was being questioned since it was published. Some said it is a variety of the Nepenthes truncata and some said it is a complex hybrid raised by the mother nature. Some even questioned about whether those variable plants sold by BE were made by the real QoH and KoB or just plants made by sibbling crosses of other usual parentage.

I am not a taxonomist and I have no say about its ID. What I wanna know is that Nepenthes robcandleyi is a nice highlander with intense color, flare peristome and huge pitchers when well grown.

It is a real highlander but can still accommodate to artificial environment with some cooling equipment.

The next one is Nepenthes veitchii x burbidgeae made by EP

This is famous of its striped peristome from both of the parents. Fortunately it can bear the big burbidgeae pitcher together with a flare peristome inherited by the Nepenthes veitchii. This is still a small plant which didn't show half of its potential. Long way to go for me ~

Primulina Avery’s Oriental Dragon ( syn. Chirita Avery’s Oriental Dragon )

Primulina Avery’s Oriental Dragon ( syn. Chirita Avery’s Oriental Dragon )

My Primulina hybrid registered last year on 2014

I have used a Primulina fimbrisepala with white leaf markings as pod parent. The clone is now called Primulina Avery's Fimbri A1. The strong white markings were inherited in its offsprings and the leaves of this hybrid is more attractive than those made with the ordinary green leaf clones.

This is the second year bloom of this plant. Owning to the tall and upright characters of the Primulina linearifolia flower stems, this hybrid also inherited these advantages of the pollen parent. I hope to see more flower count when the plant is fully grown next year ~

Primulina Avery's Fimbri Snow - albino form of Primulina fimbrisepala ( syn. Chirita Avery's Fimbri Snow )

Primulina Avery's Fimbri Snow ( syn. Chirita Avery's Fimbri Snow )

This is an albino variety of the Primulina fimbrisepala. I have register this cultivar name at the TGS last year. You will soon see it in their registry

This variety is pure white in color and is more easier to bloom on tall flower stems. A first bloom plant propagated from leaf cutting can bare 3 flower spikes which make it very showy.

I have used it in my Primulina breeding and I hope more eye catching hybrids can be made with the help of this particular clone.

PS. I have got the spelling wrong in the photos. It should be snow instead of snowy ^^

My new mini sinningia hybrid - Sinningia Avery's White Angel

Sinningia Avery's White Angel

- Could be the world's first calynx double mini sinningia

Calynx double sinningia are hottest sinningia recently but all of them are huge in plant size making them difficult to approach for those who have limited growing space.

I have tried breeding calynx double of smaller size similar to mini sinningia since late 2013. I have some of the seeds germinated and the first one flowered recently.

I can tell from the flower buds that the first bloom will be a calynx double and I am surprised by the small plant size that the first flower bud was seen a month ago. It flowered recently and the color is mostly white. I like it a lot and named it Sinningia Avery's White Angel owning to the color of flower and the shape of the corolla. I hope each of you will enjoy this new breed ~
